dwonnell 0 Posted October 12, 2005 My PC won't boot and tells me that I have a corrupt or missing ntoskrnl.exe file. I followed the directions to fix the file by expanding the file from the Windows CD to the system32 directory and it tells me "access denied". The solution had said to boot to the CD, then go to windows recovery, login as administrator and expand the file. When I went to windows recovery it never asked me to logon as administrator nor did it ask for a password. I'm stuck, what do I do next? thanks Dan Share this post Link to post
Wilhelmus 1 Posted October 14, 2005 Before using expand command, try typing set AllowAllPaths = true (case-sensitive) in recovery console. Have you tried checking hard drive for errors in recovery console using chkdsk /r command? Share this post Link to post
emre007 0 Posted November 15, 2005 Yeah, I tried the "set AllowAllPaths = true", but I get a messages saying that SET has been disabled and is only available with they Security Configuration and Analysis snap-in. WTF? Share this post Link to post
