ran2005s 0 Posted November 3, 2005 Hi ppl, My project dev-box has windows server 2003 SP1. On this machine whenever i try to SEARCH for a particular file, it returns 0 files found, when as a matter of fact files with those names do exist on the drives !!! Has ne1 ever faced such a problem with win server 2003?? Can someone please provide a fix for this issue. Thanks, RN Share this post Link to post
theefool 0 Posted November 4, 2005 Make sure the following are checked under "Advanced Options": Search System Folders Search Hidden Files and Folders Search SubFolders If you still can't find them, then (What I typically do normally), use the cmd prompt to hunt for those files, in question...... ran2005s 0 Posted November 5, 2005 checked all the "Advanced Options" you specified. But no luck!! I think the problem is with the Win2K3 server registry, but not sure. Can anyone please confirm? Share this post Link to post
snakefoot 0 Posted November 26, 2005 Maybe this registry tweak will do it for ya: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM \CurrentControlSet \Control \ContentIndex] FilterFilesWithUnknownExtensions = 1 (Default = 0) Configure the file search to include all files Share this post Link to post
