windows in the sims 2 dont light up rooms

I just installed TS2 (after multiple problems with the whole directX thing). When I build a house, no matter how many windows I use, no light comes in! It's like this with all the houses, pre-made and ones I make. It's so irritating! Anybody else have this problem? Anyone know how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

i have the same problem, i don understand it but i know its really annoying!! my stupid computer! i should just throw it out the window.. not even joking
