GrannyPantyRaider 0 Posted February 26, 2000 I have an Athlon 650 on a k7 pro running a Geforce SDR card under win2k. I like mostly everyone else with a similar setup experience frequent lock-ups on the desktop. This is what I am trying now. I used the nv4_mini.sys from 3.66 with the 3.78 Nvidia reference drivers. Its worth a shot. The worst that could happen is that you still end up going back to the 3.66 drivers totally. Go into safe mode and copy the nv4_mini.sys file from the 3.66 driver set into the \%system root%\system32\drivers directory after you have installed the 3.78 drivers. I have not crashed yet on the desktop. Its has been 3 hours and I haven't played any games to delay the crash. So so far so good. Give it a shot. This may be the fix, for now. Sensei 0 Posted March 1, 2000 It worked! YAY! Woohooo! I'm now using the 3.78 drivers with the 3.66 mini file thingy. Pete Share this post Link to post
Exorcist 0 Posted March 1, 2000 Hmm - I'll try that tomorrow Although to be honest, the random lock-ups are, er, random - I can go days without one single lock-up - and then get 2 or 3 on one day...annoying isn't the word Exorcist Share this post Link to post
MoleDK 0 Posted March 2, 2000 I just copied the nv4_mini.sys from 3.66 into the unzipped 3.78 driver directory and overwriting the existing file. I let Windows 2K install those and it worked without problems. Much easier than fiddling around afterwards Share this post Link to post
