Grub problem with Fedora core 4

When ever I try to boot in to fedora all I see when I hit F1 is "GRUB _ " and it stays that way

Im running an AMD 2600+ a Abit NF7 mainborad a nvidia ti 4200 AGP 8x 512mb ram and 2 250GB westurn digital harddrives.

 

I thought I would add that I don't get the main grub screen it just shows the normal black bacround startup screen with alittle part at the bottom that says grub

Are these sata drives by any chance?

 

Where did you tell Fedora to install grub, in the MBR or on a boot partition?

well i got it working (im in now) but i have one more problem I cant get my mic to work.
