F.J. 0 Posted December 7, 2005 I just tried to install Mandrake Linux 10.1 and am having trouble. I installed it before on this same machine with no problem, but now even when I go back to the previous version it will not install properly. It does install, but it is very slow and I can hear the disk constantly. When it boots it reports a message that says disabling IRQ11 many many times as it boots. Also, in the harddrake it reports that I have two P4 processors which I don't and I find that a bit strange. I have a ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe with a SATA drive and a standard EIDE drive, a DVD-ROM and a DVD +RW drive and I just installed DSL. Any help would be appreciated. For now though I am going to try a different version of linux and see that helps. I do like Mandrake though so I hope to eventually get it working. Share this post Link to post
F.J. 0 Posted December 9, 2005 I found the solution. It has to do with the SATA controller. Set the SATA controller to Enhanced and S-ATA only. Share this post Link to post
