paulonate35 0 Posted December 11, 2005 Hello everyone!!!! My brother just gave me a VGA Card (ATI Radeon 9200 SE) and I tried it on my PC which has an 8x capable AGP slot. What really bothers me is that, after installing my Radeon 9200SE, it changes my BIOS to 1x, 2x & 4x only. With my previous VGA card (NVDIA MX series), it shows in my BIOS 4x & 8x but with Radeon 9200SE, the 8x disappeared. One thing more is that my driver is SisGRV.dll dated 3/5/2003. Is this driver compatible with WIN XP. Will somebody help me with my problem. More power to everybody..... Share this post Link to post
Sampson 0 Posted December 11, 2005 There are a number of pieces of information that we need to know so that we can help. One of the main pieces is the motherboard manufacturer. It would help to know what steps you took to install the new card. Did you uninstall the nVidia drivers first before installing the ATI card? How did you go about doing this? The ATI card needs the newest DirectX (9.0c) installed and it also needs .Net Framework. If perchance you have recently installed .Net Framework 2, you many have to re-install .Net Framework 1.1 since the card's software may need that version of .Net which Windows sometimes gets rid of after installing .Net 2. You may very well have a problem with the sis agp driver. Not knowing which of those fits your system, here are some I found that may be germane to you quandry: SiS AGP Driver 1.16a Windows 98/ME/2000/XP download SiS AGP Driver Version 1.16a For Windows 98 /ME /2000 /XP. ameenmakkouk@yahoo.com 0 Posted March 10, 2006 Hello: I have the same VGA card and i sovled it by the will of the god. My card is (ATI Radeon 9200 SE) and always when i start these games (NFS6, Silent Hunter 3, GTA San Andreas) to get working they simply quit out to windows desktop. So i needed the drivers update but ATI new drivers were not working. But then i realised that my card is a SIS vga card (powered by ATI). So i downloaded the latest (SIS Xbare) drivers and my card works so are my games. Share this post Link to post
