screen has orange light instead of green?

Recommended Posts

I worked on computor got it all ready then the screen went

black. I thought it was my mother board. Bought new mother

board. Did all again. Screen went black then lelf computor

on it stayed black. Turn computor off till I came home from

work. Screen came on. I had to turn off computor. Came back

home. Screen black again. I changed ram. Started working

again. Then screen was black again all the while I see the

orange light and not the green light on monitor button light.

Have I confuse you, by now, I hope I didn't do something stupid?

do u have crt or flat screen? if crt, read on...

this happened to my comp too. this might sound little stupid but it may b bcoz of moisture. try to keep monitor in really dry place, try to keep away frm windows, etc. when not in use, cover yur monitor with dry cover.

switch off yur system and blow dry yur monitor thru ventilating holes with help of hairdryer or sumthing frm considerable distance. if this sounds 2 bizarre try this.

take out yur rams frm its slots and clean its ends lightly with help of eraser (clean the bottom part of the ram, ie the golden part tht is acually inserted inside the slot). sumtimes accumulation of dust causes this.

it worked for me.

Yes, your discription is confusing. First, you said that "you got the computer all ready." What exactly do you mean? Were you building a new computer? Did it boot into windows before it went black? What kind of motherboard are you using now? Does the machine actually bring windows up? How long before the screen goes black again?

First off, check the manual that came with your monitor, and see what the orange light signifies. Possibly, your monitor is going into standby mode, and not wanting to come out of it.

So, what operating system are you using, and maybe we can fix you up so that your monitor doesn't go into standby mode? This sounds like one of those wee glitches, nothing major. smile
