can't uninstall a download- could before

I found that I get a message from "wise install" - not my usual install wizard logo - when I tried to uninstall a downloaded game, that said it "could not open INSTALL.LOG". I got something online that replaced some files, undetected by my pc-cillin, and performed a system restore back a few days. Now another game I had already uninstalled is still/back on my machine from the date I restored to, but I get the same message when I try to uninstall it this time, also. Does this make any sense? What can I do?

Try uninstalling in safe mode.
