buckleman 0 Posted December 29, 2005 hi, i need help. i tried to install windows xp on my sata hard drive. i did the F6 thing at the begining of the install but the files i copied wernt recognized by windows xp setup. i copied three files, a secutrity catalog, a system file, and a setup information file. the setup asked for an oem file or something like that. Anyway, i was wondering what files i need to copy to my floppy disk in order to install the drivers for my hard drive. Thanx in advance for any help. dcxman 0 Posted December 30, 2005 what you'll have to do is download the sata driver for your motherboard which can be found at: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us it will be under the "ide" section listed as: Version 1.00.0.26 2003/10/22 update OS Win98SE / WinME / WinNT / Win2K / WinXP / Win2003 Description Promise SATA378 Driver V1.00.0.26 for Windows 98SE/NT4.0/ME/2000/XP/2003 File Size 959.32 (KBytes) Download from Global USA Europe China put that on a floppy and boot up under F6. specify for the xp driver and you should be good to go. hope that helps Share this post Link to post
jmmijo 1 Posted December 30, 2005 I have found on Via chipset boards that sometimes you need to load both the SATA RAID and the SATA IDE drivers for XP to install and run correctly. I do believe this board is one of these affected by this situation. Share this post Link to post
