tool_462 0 Posted January 8, 2006 Hello, I have changed a few options in my BIOS that i read about in an article on tomshardware.com and now i have a problem. I am fairly competent in my knowledge about BIOS and changing settings, but this one gets me. I changed options and rebooted to test stability. But when i reboot my monitor shows nothing. I didn't enable my onboard VGA or anything like that, but I may have accidently disabled a PCI slot or something. So to get to my point. Is there any way I can restore BIOS settings to an earlier time or some way to get into my BIOS and rechange the options I messed with? Remember: i cant see anything on my monitor, even when i enter the BIOS by pressing delete at startup. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! Would like to resolve this ASAP, I can't stand trying to browse the net on my parents jurassic era pc Share this post Link to post
Relic 0 Posted January 8, 2006 Pull the CMOS battery out of the mobo, leave it out for 5 minutes. Reinstall the battery, your BIOS will be back to default settings(fail-safe), you'll have to reset the time in the BIOS, and start tweaking/over-clocking all over again, but at least you'll have your system back. BTW, don't put too much faith in THG, there are better sites out there. For your BIOS tweaking, there is only one place to go, and that's here: http://www.rojakpot.com/show.aspx?fileID=18. That is THE best BIOS guide there is, anywhere, it can't be beat, although it's often imitated. Share this post Link to post
