The terminals do not appear in FC4 !

Hi, everyone,

This may seem like a strange problem as, so far, I have not come across it anywhere on the web. I study in an Engineering College.

In our hostel, many of us use Linux. A few of us use Debian and the rest, Fedora. Everything was fine with FC3, but when some of us tried to upgrade to FC4, for some reason, the console terminals 1 to 6 (Ctrl+Alt+F1, Ctrl+Alt+F2, etc) did not appear. Only the GUI worked.Pressing the keys only caused the screen to blank out and do nothing else. Other than that, FC4 worked fine.

 

Here comes the strange part: for those few of us who had Intel 915 motherboards (most of us have 845) and AMD Azus, the terminals appeared without a hitch! On the other hand for the rest of us, they didn't appear. We all tried to find out what the issue was. But we could not succeed. If any of you knows the solution, please let me know. I'll be very grateful to you.
