GeForce MX 4000 128mb PCI

Recommended Posts

I just installed WinXP on my second machine, and I'm having problems with the my graphics card now. The BIOS are set to use the PCI as the primary, which it does, however, it is reverting to the onboard graphics once it hits the desktop. I haven't gotten the chance to install the drivers on the cd it came with because I don't have the disc with me at school. I did install the current driver off the nvidia site, but that only helped the onboard graphics. Is my problem simply getting the cd and installing whats on it? I don't understand why it is switching from the card once windows starts.

You need to turn off the onboard graphics in the BIOS (not in Windows) by setting it to Disabled/Off/0MB or whatever.

make sure you go into add/remove programs and remove any drivers that say "Intel Extreme Graphics Controller" or something of that sort.
