darrellx 0 Posted January 27, 2006 My son just installed the game Half Life 2 on a new Gateway laptop. Up until he installed the game, the sound was fine but now it is scratchey or glitchey. Any ideas as to what is causing this and how to correct it. Any info would be appreciated.T Thanks darrellx Share this post Link to post
peterh 1 Posted January 27, 2006 What hardware specs do you have? HL2 requires good fast hardware to play, a laptop may not be upto the job to play it smoothly... Share this post Link to post
Sampson 0 Posted January 27, 2006 If it is now "scratchy and glitchy" on even CD's or other Media software, it is possible that HF2 has made either a registry entry for its own driver and messed up your default driver, or it may have substituted one of its own drivers for your gateway driver. In that case, it might be best to restore XP to a configuration before the HF2 install. If it is not interfering with the sound of your other media software, then peterh is probably right on the money. Share this post Link to post
