qaywsx 0 Posted February 23, 2006 well I just brought a new pc with windows xp and now I noticed that my old SideWinder Game Pad Pro (USB) isn't supported by Windows XP. (i had win98 before) And when I just plug it in, I can't use the SideWinder options like the shift-button because it then uses some weird generic drivers Is there any way to get the SideWinder Game Pad Pro drivers and software to work with Windows XP ??? Please, there must be a way, hacks, mods, updates or whatever. I just don't want to buy me a new controller just because I updated to crappy XP. ANY help is really really appreciated. tool_462 0 Posted February 23, 2006 Hey i'm not sure if the one you need is here, but you take a look: Microsoft Drivers Try to see if the one you have is there, and download the driver. Share this post Link to post
peterh 1 Posted February 23, 2006 You cannot use the old Sidewinder drivers on XP. You can use the builtin Joystick driver in XP via: Add/Remove Programs Game Controllers Add Microsoft Sidewinder (Auto-Detect) Share this post Link to post
qaywsx 0 Posted February 24, 2006 that always gives me an error about the gameport or gameportdriver being not configured correctly. but does the built-in driver support the sidewinder's shift-key? because that is what I relly need, so that i can program 16 buttons instead of just 8 Share this post Link to post
