Theophile 0 Posted February 23, 2003 Nope. Currently, there is preliminary support for reading NTFS filesystems, but attempting to write to one still causes major filesystem corruption. Therefore, you won't find a Linux distribution that will install top NTFS. However, if you're planning on swithing over, why not just repartition the hard drive? Share this post Link to post

Linwood If you don't need the NTFS partition, delete it. IF you do, Mandrake 9.1 allows you to resize your NTFS partition and create empty space where you may install your Linux system. It goes without saying that Linux performs best with its native filesystems. XFS, JFS, ext3 and Reiserfs are all good and stable. I recommend ext3 for backwards compatibility if you are just beginning to dabble in Linux. Best of luck Share this post Link to post
