Boyd 0 Posted March 6, 2000 Hi All, I am currently dual-booting Win98 SE with Win2k Pro and when I shutdown the PC in Win98, it powers off automatically, but not in Win2k. Does anyone know how I might be able to enable this feature in Win2k ? Thanks to all replies in advance Share this post Link to post
Shrink 0 Posted March 6, 2000 Under your power management options, see if there is an APM tab - if so, select the checkbox under that tab. ------------------ Shrink 92% of the things we worry about don't happen - but the other 8% DO! EleQtroQshun 0 Posted March 6, 2000 Open regedit and navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon Set the value for PowerdownAfterShutdown to 1 and you should be set. This worked on my BF6 and BP6. Share this post Link to post
Boyd 0 Posted March 7, 2000 Hey thanks for the suggestions, but turning on APM gave me this Stop error on shutdown "unexpected_kernel_mode_trap" It then did a memory dump and rebooted. Also tried the registry edit and it made no difference at all. Thanks Share this post Link to post
