tool_462 0 Posted May 12, 2006 Anyone know if this card will work with SLI? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/...11&NoMapp=0 It says SLI but I am curious as to if it will work with this motherboard. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=1490501&sku=A458-1122 The reason I wonder, is because there is no SLI bridge connector on the top of the card but this board comes with one. I have never owned an SLI board so I'm not 100% sure how it works! Share this post Link to post
jmmijo 1 Posted May 12, 2006 Well, if the pics are correct for this model card then no it's not SLI capable, there is not SLI bridge connector on the top of this card near the fron expansion bracket like there should be. However, BFG's website does say this model is SLI capable so I really don't know how unless some of the motherboards come with the SLI bridge on the motherboard instead of the graphics cards Share this post Link to post
jmmijo 1 Posted May 13, 2006 I can only suggest calling BFG Tech and ask them about this very thing, give them the make/model of the motherboard as well and see if they have tested the combo out yet... You could also try out their tech support email address, if they have one of course Share this post Link to post
Chief_Suicide 0 Posted May 22, 2006 You can have a 6600 or 6600LE card work in SLI without the Connector @ the top that we're used to seeing. I have SLI running @ my house with two 6600 SLI compatible cards. It works because there is enough bandwidth left over on the PCI Xpress bus to handle the through put on these lower end cards. Here is a link from an nvidia sponsered site that backs up what I'm saying. http://www.slizone.com/page/slizone_faq.html#g8 Share this post Link to post
tool_462 0 Posted May 22, 2006 Thanks! I emailed motherboard and card manufacturer both said roughly the same thing. That the card isn't fast enough to need the SLi bridge But I ended up winning a bid on TWO BFG GeForce 6600 GT OC's on eBay for just under $100 And the GT OC runs much faster than the 6600 or LE editions. Thanks again everyone Share this post Link to post
