alltagsplastik 0 Posted June 11, 2006 I urgently need your help guys: I´m using Evolution on Firefox and you should know I´m an Idiot on any System: I got a message which might have too big attachments, however, Evolution collapses trying to fresh up the folder and the only opportunity I have is to end the program. Which means I can´t use my e-mail at the moment. Please help: How can I stop this process, or delate this mail while the evolution window doesn´t answer to any ???? Share this post Link to post
zenarcher 0 Posted June 11, 2006 You might start Konquoror, if you are using KDE...under View...check "Show hidden files," then click on Evolution>Mail>Local...and see if you can see the problem email there. If so, you should be able to delete it there. Regards, zenarcher Share this post Link to post
danleff 0 Posted June 11, 2006 Please only start one thread on a topic. Starting multiple threads in different places only confuses those who try to help. Folks will respond to one thread posted, as is the case here. Staying with one thread keeps all relevent responses in one place. Since this thread has been responded to, I will delete the other two. alltagsplastik 0 Posted June 11, 2006 Dear zenarcher, first of, thanx a lot for your helping hand. I could not make it yet, cause I´m using Red Hat on Fedora Core and could not translate your hinds onto. What is the opposite in here for Konquoror ? You´ll ask yourself how I manage to use Linux on this nonknowledge levels of mine. Well, Sandro, a friend of mine is running it for me since two years. After I had much trouble with viruses that I spent half of my working days with searching and clearing my window base I switched to his advise and help to work on Linux. As long he is not on holidays this is the best working station I ever had. As good as no interruptions, any options, greater and much more flexible software than windows has. This far, greatings from Hambourg, Germany, sandra. PS: My late reaction is due to the time difference. Share this post Link to post
alltagsplastik 0 Posted June 11, 2006 Hi danlaff, sorry, I will next time and sure please delete the second, too. I´m Sorry, I did not think about this point of view, I just tried to reach any community for help. I´m not used to be a forum user, but sure, I got your point now. Thank you for your advice and your work which is part of this forum and it´s option for help and open exchange of knowledge. This philosophy has been my inner reason to agree to Linux. Greatings from Hamburg in Germany, sandra. Share this post Link to post
zenarcher 0 Posted June 12, 2006 Let me try to put this another way. Instead of saying "Konquoror" I'll say you might open "Home." That should be a little icon that looks like a house on your toolbar. Does that help? Then, try what I suggested. Cheers, zenarcher Share this post Link to post
alltagsplastik 0 Posted June 13, 2006 Dear Zenarcher, thanks a lot. I did so, but mhchm, I could not hold on to my local e-mail folders - which at least finally rang a bell, your advice made me let lose - blunt it is - to what I´m used to: This stupid shortcut icon to my mailbox, seen as the one and only point of view. I could not hold on to the box local based, ´cause I only view and handle some alias here - it´s all left to the server of my host - for the case of cases. But - sure - I do have an administration log in... Sorry, this has been too stupid. Anyway, I´m back to work and friends as far as quick communication is concerned by now. I thought about s.th. in return, checked your webside and will send you a joke. I´m absolutely aware of my problem has been an Administrater´s buisness as usual with some bloody user´s nonknowledge one, has not much to do with what the forum is dealing and actually none of your interest. The nicer it is you helped me out. Have a good time, sandra. Share this post Link to post
