GReYHouND 0 Posted March 6, 2000 Hi there, Just a quick question: Using a bp6 board and setting mps to 1.4 in the bios and running w2k is it possible to use the usb? Thank in advance! GReYHouND. Share this post Link to post
wallaby 0 Posted March 6, 2000 Yes you can with the new beta bios QQ-2 which tou can find at http://www.bp6.com. If you do not wish to load a beta just go back to mps 1.1 till the full vertion bios comes out. this will fix the error you see on the usb hardware. The new bios will also give you your power management back (shstem will shutdown when exiting) You will need too reload win2k clean or over it's self using the repair option too keep all your settings. Third party driver not certifide will be lost and need too be reloaded. There is a shortage of usb device driver for win2k you may have to hunt alot. this is one of the best places i found to start looking. simonroockley 0 Posted March 6, 2000 One to watch out for is that if you are using 2 cpus make sure that the drivers are compatible with multi cpu systems. I've been getting IRQL equal to or less than blue screen of deaths. Share this post Link to post
GReYHouND 0 Posted March 7, 2000 Thanks wallaby and simonroockley! I installed w2k on bios qq, then flashed to latest bios, then reinstalled usb controller, but that didn't work (still code 35). I will try repairing the OS on the newest bios today. Thanks again, GReYHouND. Share this post Link to post
Auroran 0 Posted March 8, 2000 After you flash to the latest 03/03 QQ BIOS and change the MPS to 1.4, you'll have to re-install win2k with the 'upgrade' option for everything to be in working order again.
