I Need help with The Sims 1 it wont work!!!!! PLEASE HELP

Hi

Okay i have The Sims 1 and i installed it and that all went okay but then whenever i put the cd in the screen comes up and i press play and then the size i want. and then a screen pops up saying THE SIMS DELUXE but nothing happens and its just my desktop and it wont load and ive waited for an hour and my computer has enough memory can anyone help me pleaseeeeee!!!
