Simcity 1 : Enhanced CD-ROM on XP

There is this special enhanced version of simcity1 for dos that i have that has better graphics and multimedia videos etc and I can't get it to work on windows xp. Any help from someone who has this version of Simcity who got this to work would really be helpful.

Open dosbox.conf and change cycles= to cycles=auto and core=normal to core=dynamic.
