MelloJ 0 Posted March 11, 2000 Hey all I had Windows 2000 build 2195 installed on a P3 600 with a Riva tnt2 Ultra and a Abit BE6 MB, and the OS ran amazing, hardly any crashes. I recently got another computer for a LAN, ITs an AMD K-7 750mhz, an Asus K7m motherboard, Asus v6800 Pure (3.7.9 drivers) intel 10/100 ethernet, aopen modem, and SB LIVE! Same build of windows 2000, and what i find is that every so often i get random crashes in windows, not doing anything spectacular, just going to START menu, or just in IE. Its a hard crash, no blue screen, and i need to reboot. Does anyone have any idea what is the culprit behind this problem? thanks. Share this post Link to post
GrannyPantyRaider 0 Posted March 11, 2000 I tried the 3.7.9 drivers on my Athlon 650, Guillemot Geforce SDR 256megs crucial pc133, 2x13.6 raid 0, soundblaster live value blah blah blah rig and the same thing. I had to go back to 3.75 with 3.66 mini.sys file. Random crashes with the new asus drivers along with any body elses beta drivers. This really sucks. I wanna know what the **** these manufacturers are using to develop the drivers that they arent comming across this really annoying bug. Everyone I know with an Athlon and Geforce running win2k has the same problem. I wonder if 3.75 is such a big improvement over 3.66. I'm not big on benchmarks. Dont have the time to be benching everytime I change something. Maybe I should start. Whatever. Can somebody point us towards a reliable/ decent performing driver? Share this post Link to post
