japanguy60 0 Posted October 27, 2006 i am new to linux.thinking about installing ubuntu 6.06 operating system,beside windows xp.but will not do it,as not sure if linux surports my printer drivers.my printer is an lexmark x2350.have also have an belkin wi fi card 802.11g.any help would be very much appreciated.thank you. danleff 0 Posted October 28, 2006 I took a quick look around, and it looks like this printer will be an issue. Lexmark has not been forthcoming in sharing there code and no one seems to have tackled this printer driver build. You also need to note what exact make, model and revision of the wireless card, so we know what chipset it uses and what the support is probably like. Share this post Link to post
peterh 1 Posted October 30, 2006 Lexmark 2350 is a Host Based Solution, so there is no ROM or built in language, the host does all the processing and produces the output. So Linux is a non-starter, sorry. If you want to print with Linux, try a printer that supports, PCL, ESC/P, Postscript or Canon.
