gef4000 mx 0 Posted November 4, 2006 This is sorta a personal pole question, What do you think of buying hardware from E-bay? yes/no, is it worth the risk? yes/no and any other thoughts because i'm having a difficult time buying my parts fromt the over-prised local stores Share this post Link to post
Cormac 0 Posted November 4, 2006 You may be able to find a great deal on stuff on EBAY but if the stuff is defective in anyway or dies right after you install it. Good luck in getting your money back from an EBAY seller. To me it isn't worth the risk when you have loads of online stores that at least you have some recourse with if you have any problems with what you buy. Stores like: Newegg, http://www.newegg.com/ Frys, http://www.frys.com/ Tiger Direct, http://www.tigerdirect.com/. You can also use Froogle to search for computer parts, http://www.google.com/froogle?hl=en&tab=wf&q= Share this post Link to post
gef4000 mx 0 Posted November 4, 2006 Well that helps alot (Froogle) i never what have thought of using that, but even some of those results seem offly under the norm price, for example, the intel core duo E6400 is regularly priced at $220 but http://www.order-point.co.uk/Inu_products/INU_ProdDetailsL1.asp?ref=27304493 has for only $160, so when using froogle should i just use my better judgement and not even consider such price reasonable? Cormac 0 Posted November 4, 2006 Well I wouldn't worry about Froogle and their prices. Nearly everyone on there is a storefront/business not like EBAY. One thing to remember though is that place you mention is in the UK so that price might be $160.00 Pounds which is $304.13 US Dollars. You might want to PM Relic and ask him for the name of the place he uses in Canada since the exchange rate would favor a US buyer. Share this post Link to post
