jmmijo 1 Posted November 14, 2006 You should ask your network administrator and see if they would be willing to open the ports you need to do this. However, are you trying to do this from your home connection or is this on a campus in a dorm room ?!? If on a campus then most likely these are filtered/closed for security reasons and I'm not sure if you can even use a proxy server or not... Share this post Link to post
waelkd 0 Posted November 18, 2006 yup dude i live in campus, and they wont open any ports am sure about that ,so u dont think there is any other way right? Share this post Link to post
Myke 0 Posted November 21, 2006 It really depends on what game you are playing. The campus I lived on was a bit strict with this sort of thing, but was able to easliy play games online. Worst case scenario, you have to call your help desk to figure out if they allow it. What game(s) are you trying to play, specifically? I'd check into what ports they require and all. Also, check to make sure that your personal firewall is allowing the traffic outbound/inbound. A common oversight is the personal firewall. In addition, you might want to check the settings of any other software like ZoneAlert and the likes. Share this post Link to post
