tpe 0 Posted March 12, 2000 Has anyone tested the leaked nvidea 5.xx drivers that enable texture compression? If so did they work on smp enabled quakeIII? Currently i am using the asus 379b1 windows 2000 beta drivers, and they work fine when r_smp is 0 but not 1. The same drivers are used for the gforce and the tnt2u and i use a tnt2u I would like to get r_smp going again under win2k as it was in nt4. Does the use of the nvidea 366 drivers help under win2k. also does anyone know if i can replace the nt4_mini.sys file? from asus 379b1 with the 366 file? If so what is the name of the asus file? v66_mini.sys? Share this post Link to post
Mike V 0 Posted March 12, 2000 The leaked 5.08 drivers are for Windows 95, 98, 98se only. They will not work with Windows 2000. There are official drivers for Windows 2000 on Nvidia's site: www.nvidia.com They are version 3.78 and any earlier version are leaked. Many people use the 3.66's, saying they're the best, but I'm using the 3.78's with no problems. Hopefully we'll see 5.0x's for Win2k soon. Mike Share this post Link to post
