Petz 4 Keeps Freezing

I have just installed the Petz 4 on to my new computer but after 20 seconds of playing, it freezes. I try it over and over again and even restarted the computer but still keeps freezing and not responding.

 

I would really like to play this game as I haven't for such a long time. And as its the christmas season, I have gotten into all my games I have.

 

Please, If you have any advice, do tell.

P.S I am running it on Windows XP

It appears this game is not supported on XP but may work with a patch.
