fpsdyl 0 Posted January 8, 2007 Hi, Xp doesn't want to shut down.. it goes till windows is shutting down and then just stands still... i think it's the usb modem were using cause if i disable or unplug windows actually shuts down... is their a way i can fix this without unpluggin it??? Sampson 0 Posted January 9, 2007 You are probably correct in that there is some driver or service which will not allow Shutdown to go further. You could download this from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...;displaylang=en to help clean up the hives in the registry that would allow for a clean shutdown. Myke 0 Posted January 10, 2007 Try reinstalling the modem. Make sure to uninstall it, reboot, then reinstall. This will help to make sure that you have a clean installation. There's no guarentee that this will work, but if this issue is being caused by your modem, them it wouldn't hurt to try to reinstall it. Share this post Link to post
