gef4000 mx 0 Posted January 10, 2007 I have a Netgear Router, wgr_614, I have had it for about 6 months now. I've been running on highly slow internet for the majority of that time. Download speeds are good and everything, but it takes forever to load a webpage. So I googled my router and common problems and sure enough they all said it had to do with the SPI firewall, so how do i disable it? And a side note if anyone knows how to change your vlan settings for internet teeming do post too. Share this post Link to post
peterh 1 Posted January 15, 2007 A lot of routers have a built in web server, so type http://<ip of router> to see if brings up a settings web page. Share this post Link to post
thatsteveguy 0 Posted January 15, 2007 you don't have to actually shut down the firewall (not recommended to shut it down) to disable SPI. Do as the poster mentioned above and look through the admin or tool settings and just disable SPI but leave the firewall itself active. Share this post Link to post
