Eugene 0 Posted March 10, 2000 Thanks for the suggestions, gave it a try, and still no joy, anyone else having any success with their Z51? I bought a HP, so I'm not hurting at all, just curious........ Share this post Link to post
chanfo 0 Posted March 10, 2000 Lexmark 5700 printer working just fine on Win2k server. Using the NT 4 drivers supplied by Lexmark and installed by running setup.exe as someone mentioned here earlier. Didn't have to do any sort of hack or whatnot. Share this post Link to post
Unkoon2000 0 Posted March 13, 2000 I have another machine with Windows 2000 and I tried installing the lexmark 3200 drivers (hacked) and after it installed the driver, it said "Could not add printer because The print subsystem is unavailible. Does anyone know whats wrong? Share this post Link to post
Andy_25 0 Posted March 14, 2000 Try this: Delete every file under /WINNT/System32/spool/drivers/w32x86, and also every file under \WINNT\system32\spool\prtprocs\w32x86. For some reason after I did this (and rebooted as far as I can remember) the setup program ran just fine! (without the spoolsv error or the "..subsystem unavailable" error). If Windows doesn't allow you delete some of the files, try and reboot, that helped in my case. You have to delete every file. Someone also told me that I should've deleted every lexmark entry in the registry. I didn't do that and everything worked just fine. Andy Share this post Link to post
