Cormac 0 Posted March 18, 2007 Hi Stacy, here is a link to the Radeon SDR Driver. http://driverscollection.com/?file_id=5251 Here is the one for the Sound Blaster. http://www.opendrivers.com/driver/211149/creative-sound-blaster-live!-series-soundcard-kx-driver-full-5.10.0.3536-for-win98se-me-2000-xp-free-download.html Share this post Link to post
smedina146 0 Posted March 18, 2007 Thank you so much. Where should I put them after downloaded? Which file I mean...in the system file? Sorry Im such a dork about all this. Thanks for lookin at my dxdiag and helpin me figure an EXACT match...:-) Stacy Share this post Link to post
Cormac 0 Posted March 19, 2007 Your most welcome for the help. Just do a search for where each driver is located and then put the new ones in those folders. Don't forget to delete the bad drivers before you add the new ones. If that fails to work then write back and we can take it from there. Share this post Link to post
smedina146 0 Posted March 23, 2007 I did the search and was able to find that they are in the system file...no problem. HOwever, I notice that the main file has sub files within. Shall I delete the main file? Will that cause my computer any harm, trying to install another? Do I run an "Update Driver" ... sorry this is new for me. Share this post Link to post
Cormac 0 Posted March 24, 2007 Hi Stacy, no problem. Just delete the driver itself don't delete the files or folders. You can also give that update driver a try and see if that does the trick. Good luck. Share this post Link to post
Cormac 0 Posted March 24, 2007 One thing I forgot to mention earlier Stacy. If you do the Update driver it will ask you where to look for the driver and you can point it to look at those 2 files you downloaded earlier. Share this post Link to post
smedina146 0 Posted March 25, 2007 Thanks so much...will go ahead and give it a try today. Wish me luck! (tremble..shake) Share this post Link to post
smedina146 0 Posted March 25, 2007 Oh..forgot to ask...I noticed my version was 5.12 and this one is 5.10. Does this make a difference? Just curious. Sorry for such stupid questions.. >>>Open Drivers - Free Download Creative Sound Blaster Live! Series Soundcard kX Driver Full 5.10.0.3536 For Win98SE/ME/2000/XP <<< Share this post Link to post
smedina146 0 Posted March 25, 2007 Yes... (Sigh)..its me again. Well, I tried to delete the drivers like you said, but it wouldnt let me do it. It said that it was in use. I have no idea what to do now. EEK! Share this post Link to post
Cormac 0 Posted March 25, 2007 No need to be sorry for asking questions, it's the only way to learn. In most cases there isn't a huge difference in model numbers. I was hoping that that would do the trick. I'm running out of ideas over here. I'm hoping that one of the other guys will read the thread and have an idea or two that will work. I will keep thinking of something that hopefully work. Sorry it isn't working so far. Share this post Link to post
smedina146 0 Posted March 26, 2007 I sure appreciate your help. The two driver downloads I have, both have a self-extracting "set-up". Since the computer won't let me delete the old drivers, can I just run the set ups without hurting anything? I didn't want to do it until I asked first. :-) Stacy Share this post Link to post
Cormac 0 Posted March 27, 2007 You can run those self-extractors without hurting your comp. I'm just hoping that this will do the trick or I will have to get one of the other guys in here to take over. I am beginning to run out of ideas. Stacy check your messages. I sent you something. Just go up to my stuff and you will see the menu listing messages. Share this post Link to post
