ViolentGreen 0 Posted March 31, 2007 Hello all. I have a dual boot vista/xp machine while I am migrating from xp to vista. On my xp install, I generally would install all programs to the D drive and keep my OS install on a seperate partition. Here lies my problem. In vista, my xp system drive (c drive in XP) is set as the "d" drive and I cannot change it. When I attempt to change it, I get the following: Quote: Windows cannot modify the drive letter of your volume. This may happen if your volume is a system or boot volume or has page files. Any suggestions? Share this post Link to post
peterh 1 Posted April 9, 2007 Go to System control panel, Advanced and check to see if a page file has been enabled, if so, set it to 'No Page File' and reboot. Then yo should be able to format it or whatever. Share this post Link to post
