Zeke23 0 Posted March 11, 2000 The new beta bios for the BE6 is downloaded in a .bo1 file doesn't it need to be a .bin file? Also where do you boot to run the award.exe, last time I flashed it with Win98 I was able to boot to dos but no more dos in Win2k. Thanks in advance, Zeke Share this post Link to post
SHS 0 Posted March 11, 2000 frist you need ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/utilities/awdflash.exe make a file call bios.bat add the line to it "awdflash be6_pv.b01 /py /sn /cd /cp /cc" copy the file to a dos boot disk bootup <type> bios done Power down, Power Up resetup the bios the way you want. Just let you know you may have reinstall Win200 for ACPI function to work. Share this post Link to post

rbarbier 0 Posted March 11, 2000 Just rename it to .bin and run award flash. That is all I did. Works perfect for me. Include bios 1.22 for the HPT controller card. Share this post Link to post

Igor 0 Posted March 15, 2000 It doesn't matter what is the extension of the file. U can remove it if u don't like it, u can name it anything u like as long as it is 3 characters or less. They call it "bin" just because they always did, I'm a lazy typer so I just rename it to "a" with no extension at all this way I have less to type in dos . When u install BIOS always boot from disk to be safe. Share this post Link to post
