Myke 0 Posted April 25, 2007 This has been an ongoing problem that is driving me insane!!! Backup Exec 10 is installed on one server. I was not able to perform a push install of the Remote Agent from the server to an ISA server, so I had to manually install the remote agent locally from the ISA server. The installation appears to have gone through without any problems. When I try to select the ISA server (from the selection list on the media server) to be backed up completely, both local disks, the system state and the SQL Server are greyed out. When I try to select the C:\ drive, I get the following error message: Selectin of this item is disabled. Possible reasons are: - The Backup Exec for Windows Servers Remote Agent on the remote computer is a previous or incompatible version. - The Remote Agent is not installed on the remote computer. - A license for the Remote Agent is not installed on the media server. - You are not authorized to acces this item. Possible solutions are: - Reinstall the Remote Agent on the remote computer. - Enter a Remote Agent license number on the media server. - Use a different logon account to connect to the remote computer. The agent is definitely installed on the ISA server. The version is definitely compatible; all other servers use the same version. The media server definitely has the license for the Remote Agents. I am more than authorized to access the item, being the administrator and all. I have already uninstalled/reinstalled the Remote Agent several times (reboots in between). The Remote Agent license number is already on the media server. The domain administrator account has access to everything, so there is no need to use a different logon account, although I have tried several. All other servers are backed up each night without any problems. It is essential that I get this working, as an insane amount of configuring has been performed on the ISA server; I cannot risk losing any of it. Shared folders on the ISA can be backed up with any problem. Below is the debug log from the ISA server after setting the Remote Agent service with the "-debug" parameter: [1976] 04/25/07 12:59:02 Opening debug log C:\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\RANT\logs\ISA-beremote00.log [1976] 04/25/07 12:59:02 CleanupOrphanedSnapshots().
