EM 0 Posted March 15, 2000 My Fasttrak66 works just fine with the instructions from the Promise website. I have learned the following over the number of times I have reinstalled Win2k. You have to edit every instance of the txtsetup.sif file on your harddrive. This has to be done by booting with a boot disk during the first reboot that the installation does. It seems to vary as to number but there are always either 2 or 3 places where this file appears. First is c:\ the second in $win_nt$.~bt and the third if it there is in c:\$win_nt$.~ls\i386. Make sure to edit each one to remove any line that includes the word ultra66 (there are 4 lines) Then reboot and hit the F6 key to specify SCSI drivers and use the Promise disk for your drivers. I have found that I cannot use ACPI enabled in the BIOS. I do not have a BE6 but a BP6 dual celeron setup. Ed Share this post Link to post
