DarleneNJake 0 Posted July 25, 2007 So all was good till this week (had this laptop since 2005), when I go to plug in my USB camera (Kodak Z760 on a dock) and the computer freezes. I contact HP support and during the 4 conversations I have done the following... Uninstalled the USB roots/hubs Done the above in Safe Mode Rebooted numerous times Left the battery and power off for a few hours Flashed the Bios Updated the Chipset Did a complete install of windows again and NOTHING works still.... and I need my camera up for work. Ugh! So now if I disable the enhanced usb hub I can plug in the dock and it doesn't freeze but I get the unknown device warning each and every time, as with any of my USB devices. Mind you they have their own power. I've also unclicked the allow windows to turn off this device box on all of the usb ports as well. I need help, anyone? This is a HP Pavilion ZE2315us OS Windows XP Share this post Link to post
peterh 1 Posted July 27, 2007 Does the camera use Flash memory cards? If so, you could attach a Flash card reader to the computer and insert the Flash card instead of the Camera. If the computer freezes then it may be due to a corrupt file system on the flash card thats causing the PC to hang. Share this post Link to post
DarleneNJake 0 Posted July 28, 2007 It uses a SD card, I've tried to use other devices and I get the same thing (printer, mp3 player, etc). If anyone has any ideas please feel free to share...=o) I need to upload some files prior to 7/31 and don't have a way to get to another computer before then. Share this post Link to post
