NFS underground,and NFS underground 2.

I`ve had and played these games on and off for a couple of years,then recently my pc crashed,and was fatally wounded,I had to do a windows reinstall.everything went fine{took ages} till i decided to try the undergrounds again,both of these are 2 disk games, after installing disk 1 everything OK, when it asks for disk 2, it does`nt install and i get programme not responding..Ihave windows xp with 2.80 processer..512mb memory..and 130gbs not used..All my drivers are up to date.the dma is as it should be,,the CDs are clean,, the CD drive has been cleaned..I also used REGCURE.I am not clever at this,on a scale of 1-10 I am 2-3,but i will persevere.PS carbon and most wanted both 1 disk games play OK.Any kind of help would be most welcome.
