A-guy 0 Posted March 15, 2000 When it starts up and it says something about ide raid configuration or something you hit either f5 or f6. I believe it is f5. So try that first. Dont worry if you mess up just exit the installation and reboot. Share this post Link to post
A-guy 0 Posted March 15, 2000 BTW.... If you only have one processor then choose... Advanced configuration and powerer interface(acpi). If you have 2 processors then there is something like acpi smp or something like that. Just check all the options before you pick one. Share this post Link to post
acidspray 0 Posted March 16, 2000 Yes, it is F5, smacked after the detecting hardware screen goes away, hit it a few times to be sure it gets it. F6 is for adding mass storage drivers (in the case of ATA66, some SCSI, etc). I think it offers ACPI uniprocessor system for one processor, and ACPI multiprocessor system (MPS) for dual. acidspray 0 Posted March 17, 2000 also, read the thread "Switching from UP to MP", while the topic might not seem up your alley, the procedure (judging by a quick look) would seem to work. Go into device manager, expand computer, select what's there and get properties, goto driver tab, update driver button, display a list, show all hardware, assuming your hardware is compliant, there should be some ACPI driver options, pick the applicable one for your system...boom, no re-install necessary? Maybe...haven't tried, just hypothesizing... ------------------ -AciD >-----------------------< Hardware: BP6 running QQ Beta BIOS Dual Celeron 366 @ 566MHZ 128MB Samsung -GL IBM UDMA66 13.6g WDC UDMA33 5.1g Toshiba 32x OTI Socrates 2x2x6x V3-2000-AGP clocked @ 166 SB AWE64 Value Hayes V90 Int. topa 0 Posted March 17, 2000 As acidspray said, you can do it through the device manager, here's how: http://easyweb.easynet.co.uk/~stevemcd/win2000.htm Share this post Link to post
