paul1828 0 Posted November 13, 2007 hi.Having trouble playing my dvd`s after ive burnt them.I burn a movie from pinnacle 9 in my optiarc dvd rw 7170A and then try to watch it on the pc and I get the message"windows cannot read from this disk.The disk may be corrupted or using a format that is not compatable with windows"This has happened recently ,all ok before.The burnt disc will play ok in other household dvd players though.I have XP home edition.The drive plays shop bought dvd`s ok .Whats going on?Any help ? Myke 0 Posted November 14, 2007 My guess is that you have installed an update on Windows Media Player, which is quite strict about not allowing this sort of activity. In sum, what you are doing is illegal: pirating. No offense, but since engaging in this sort of thing is against my morals, I cannot help you with it; I can only give you a reason as to why this is happening. Share this post Link to post

Myke 0 Posted November 14, 2007 My apologies then. From the way you put it, it sounded like you were copying DVDs. As odd as it may sound, you might want to double check that you are finalizing the DVD. Also, have you installed anything new recently? Updates? New drivers? New version of applications? If so, you can try to roll your system back to a restore point when the DVDs worked. If that works, then you will be able to narrow down what exactly caused your system to stop being able to read the bruned DVDs. Share this post Link to post
