HomerGsM 0 Posted March 22, 2000 As said in a post below ("Live!Ware for Win2k or how to kill Win2k in a few clics"), those new drivers don't seem to work very well for everybody. And, as always, I am one of the "lucky" people who tests the new bugs live :-(( The install works perfectly, but after reboot the system crashes and auto-reboots just before the "Windows is starting up" window appears. I was not using any unofficial driver before attempting to install this new release. Please help me, because I'm tired to get a 2 speaker sound on my Desktop 5.1 Digital ;-( in my favorite games. Jabba 0 Posted March 22, 2000 This is caused by a driver conflict. When uninstalling old drivers win2k doesn't completely remove them and they tend not to interact well with other versions. There was a news bulletin a month ago which detailed how to ensure that you remove all your old drivers (an alternative to reinstalling win2k entirely). It even included a batch file which would automate the process. I suggest you skim through the old news and find it. I had the exact same problem when I installed the leaked Creative drivers, and this fixed it for me. Share this post Link to post
HomerGsM 0 Posted March 23, 2000 Thanx, I found what you were talking about, but the batch file didn't seem to work since some of the drivers were always in use, even in safe mode when I uninstalled my soundcard. Finally, I had to reboot under my old Win98, deleting every driver by myself, and then reboot in Win2k to install the new drivers. Bou it works now :-)) Thanks Share this post Link to post
