First of all, the game excluded multiplayer mode, and although there are

quite a few successful games that include single player mode only, a sports game

will not be successful taking that approach. Most of my friends for example will

not even glance at a sports game without multiplayer. Konami, further shot

itself in the foot by jumping the gun and releasing Pro Evolution Soccer without

proofreading the final product (the game has sections that do not function

properly or at all, such as the unplayable penalty mode or the completely

vestigial snow/dry environments.
