stikboy 0 Posted March 6, 2003 Hi all Just wondering if anyone has played with the new Linksys wireless G stuff and gotten it to work in Linux? I've got the WPC54G card, running Redhat 8.0, kernel 2.4.18-14 and I can't seem to get it working. I have tried both suggestions from http://linux.oldcrank.com/tips/wpc11/ and also tried loading as many different wireless protocals as possible. thinking out loud: Is this card based on the prism chipset? even if I can't get the g part to work, shouldn't I still be able to get it to work in b mode since it's backwards compatable? hmm - I'm off to do some more digging - possibly trying pre-release wlan-ng stuff - I'll let you know if it works, and if anyone's got any suggestions, please let me know. thanks Share this post Link to post
stikboy 0 Posted March 12, 2003 FYI, if all the looks have been from people wanting to know how to do this I have found that the chipset is a Broadcom BCM4306KFB - Not looking good for a solution yet, but I'm young enough to still have hope Anyone has any ideas, please jump in. If not, I'll keep you all informed as this looks like a popular issue BTW - anyone who has one of these cards, go sign the petition to get Broadcom to release driver specs - it'd help everyone out http://www.PetitionOnline.com/BCM4301/ Share this post Link to post
