Andy_25 0 Posted March 13, 2000 Hi, Has anyone managed to get a paraller Mustek scanner to work under Win2K? I have a Mustek ScanExpress 6000P and it's currently my only piece of hardware not working in Win2k. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a fix or something to get scanners working. For example something similar as the fix for Lexmark 3200; it was so simple that I just couldn't believe it! Maybe I should just get a new scanner... I heard that the Agfa scanners have pretty good Win2k support. I also wrote to Mustek customer support on this (twice) and I just received an answer. I'll post it here, although I'm not quite sure what they mean exactly...: "Dear Customer, look for new driver in internet: www.mustek.com.tw this month or next. Mustek have more like 20 models of scanner. We have new driver for some scanners but not for 6000 P. Best regards, Mustek" Share this post Link to post

bertl 0 Posted March 15, 2000 i got my mustek MFS12000SP scsi-scanner working under win2k with the win9x twain-drivers even though there is an "unknown scsi-scannerdevice in the device-manager Share this post Link to post
jbrockman 0 Posted March 19, 2000 How did you get the Win9x drivers to install? What file(s) did you use and where did you get them? [This message has been edited by jbrockman (edited 19 March 2000).] Share this post Link to post
Andy_25 0 Posted March 19, 2000 By the way, arent the Mustek drivers for NT and 9x the same drivers? At least in the case of my scanner, the zips are identical, and neither can be installed in Win2k. There's a line in the "install.ini" (or whatever it's called), that installation was aborted. So, I guess it's Win2k that aborts the installation because the installation program is trying copy files or do something that Win2k doesnt like. We had a similar problem with Lexmark printers until someone came up with an unbelievably simple solution; just add one line to a windows printer.ini file. The reason why I originally posted this message was to see if anyone had any ideas about a similar fix for scanners. No luck so far... Andy Share this post Link to post
bertl 0 Posted March 19, 2000 I'm using the files 1pv35.exe and 1pv37.exe that's been for downloading on the mustek.com.tw site. These are the twain drivers for the MFS12000SP and Win9x installing without any problem. Share this post Link to post
jbrockman 0 Posted March 25, 2000 I tried both files. Neither one will get past the point of the installation program testing the scanner interface. What type of scsi card are you using? Share this post Link to post

rbarbier 0 Posted March 25, 2000 My Mustek 1200 CP works like a charm. Even without rebooting. Only $59 at Wal-Wart and it does 600x1200 and 48 bit color. Share this post Link to post
