TrakerJon 0 Posted March 9, 2003 Ok guys, I've tried this every way from Sunday with Red Hat 7.3. I've pointed the Netscape plug-in path to the various 4.0, 6.0 and 6.2 java plug-ins and I've copied the plug-ins to the Netscape plug-in folder after installing the RPM from Sun v.1.4.1 successfully. The plug-ins either don't work or they crash Netscape/Mozilla. Suggestions or solutions please! Share this post Link to post
clutch 1 Posted March 11, 2003 Did you very carefully read the installation directions from Sun on how to install it? There are 3 different ways to link their Java VM to Netscape, and it depends on what version you are using. Share this post Link to post
nebulus 0 Posted March 12, 2003 ln -s to libjavaplugin_oji.so from .mozilla/plugins if you use mozilla Share this post Link to post
clutch 1 Posted March 12, 2003 This is what I was referring to, and it might be worth your time to check out: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/control_panel_script.html Share this post Link to post
TrakerJon 0 Posted April 13, 2003 Thanks guys...your replies are appreciated. I opted out of Red hat 7.3 for Mandrake 9.1 that easily recognized Sun's jre 1.4.1 within Mozilla's 1.3 browser without issue. Share this post Link to post
