Sims 2 for mac keeps crshing after splash screen!!

I made the mistake of thinking, oh if i delete all my sims 2 stuff i can start fresh...that was until i realized id lost everything so i started re downloading all me sims games, but i read somewhere you have to open you game every time you upload new games/ expansion packs, so that what i did i opened sims 2 and waited for it to load so i could close and download more expansion packs... except there was one small problem, after the splash screen had played it would load half way then crash! can someone PLEASE help me!! i know i meet all the system requirements, i just got the Macintosh '08 so if anybody could plz help me it would be greatly appreciated! Apsr and sims 2 keeps telling me the same shit!!! so please please help me
