WayneA 0 Posted March 30, 2000 I have a Geforce running ucer Win2K but on the first time set up it goes a a VGA. So I downloaded the latest drivers from NVidia and set it up but then on reboot for the settings to take effect it boot to a black screen. The only option is to reboot and choose Enable VGA which works fine but the fact is I want my GeForce. Anyone who has one of these will understand why. Hope someone can help. slkh 0 Posted March 30, 2000 Which version of Nvidia Reference Driver are you using? 5.06/5.08/5.02 give me such kind of results. Be sure you enable Assign IRQ for VGA in your BIOS. Share this post Link to post
WayneA 0 Posted March 30, 2000 I'm using 3.81. I'm not sure if these are the latest but they were the latest ones I could find. Please help. Share this post Link to post
Dragon-Lord 0 Posted March 30, 2000 The black screen may be from an unsupported monitor/refresh setting. I had this happen to me when I first migrated to W2K. If you are using a large (like 21") like I was, this may be your problem. To get it to work, I just hooked up my wife's 17", restarted, set the initial display settings, restarted to save everything, shutdown, switch monitors, whoilla! Latest drivers (beta) are the v5.13 version. I *HIGHLY* recommend them. They just plain kick butt... Hope this is your problem and it is easy to fix... :} PS I also found that the monitor was not autodetected because I was running through a Belkin Monitor/Mouse/Keyboard switchbox. I have since dumped the switcher. Share this post Link to post
