Minneapolis-based JAMF Software will demo Casper Suite Version 6.0, and host two events on June 10 in San Francisco. Intended for people who are not yet using the Casper Suite, but are looking for the most robust client management solution available, this event will take place from 12-2 pm at the Serrano Hotel located at 405 Taylor Street in San Francisco.

"Lunch & Learn" Session:

Intended for people who are not yet using the Casper Suite, but are looking for the most robust client management solution available, this event will take place from 12-2 pm at the Serrano Hotel located at 405 Taylor Street in San Francisco. Expect lunch, a full product demo including highlights of the new features of Version 6.0 (due out in July), and a chance to meet and talk with other IT administrators from organizations of varying types and sizes from education to government to business. Casper User Group:

Intended for current Casper Suite users, this event will take place from 5-8 pm at the Serrano Hotel located at 405 Taylor Street in San Francisco. From 5-6 pm, the event offers a hands-on "Open Lab" with laptops and systems engineers and a chance to ask questions. Then, beginning at 6 pm, we will move into a short presentation of the new features of Version 6.0, followed by a social hour and an opportunity to interact with other Casper Suite users and JAMF Software engineers. Demonstrations of new features of Casper Suite Version 6.0. will be offered at both events on June 10. "Our goal is to develop innovative software while allowing our product to be user-driven. New features of Casper Suite Version 6.0 include:

 

* Self-Service

A new self-service approach provides end users with on-demand access to the software they need, while reducing IT management time.

 

* GSX Integration

Integration with Apple's GSX Service provides a totally automated inventory solution by allowing the JAMF Software Server to query the Apple warranty database and populate warranty expirations in the purchasing information fields.

 

* Resumable Downloads

Managing mobile computers is easier with resumable downloads. This feature allows users to pause and resume downloads whenever a computer is online, without requiring a fresh install of interrupted downloads.

 

* HTTP Package Distribution:

HTTP distribution of packages enables more efficient management of mobile and home office users by allowing them access to their updates anytime, anywhere.

 

* CMDB/syslog Compliance:

Our new Configuration Management implementation allows you to track changes made by administrators to your inventory and management systems. The implementation records the change, the user who made the change, and the IP that the change was made from to a log file or a syslog server, making internal and external audits easier.

 

* Contract Management:

This new feature enhances our inventory solution by providing the ability to attach files like purchase orders or vendor contracts to the inventory database resulting in more accurate purchasing information.
