news 28 Posted July 18, 2008 Flashforward Film Festival Announces 50 Big Orange Rubber Arrow Nominees - Published on 07/18/08 The Flashforward Film Festival today announced their nominees for the Big Orange Rubber Arrow. 50 Nominees announced in 10 categories for Big Orange Rubber Arrow to be awarded on August 21 at the Flashforward Film Festival in San Francisco. Online voting for Peoples Choice Award opens today and runs until August 21st. Winners in each category will be posted after the Flashforward Conference and Film Festival takes place. San Francisco, CA - The Flashforward Film Festival, part of the Flashforward 2008 Conference, today announced their nominees for the Big Orange Rubber Arrow. Fifty nominees have been identified in 10 categories for the awards night ceremony on August 21, 2008 at the Masonic Center in San Francisco. Nominees are vying for Big Orange Rubber Arrows the equivalent of an Oscar in the Flash community. The Film Festival recognizes both creative and technical achievement through the expression of media created predominately using Adobe Flash. In addition to the 10 Big Orange Rubber Arrows a Peoples Choice Award will be determined through online voting by any visitors. All 50 nominees can be viewed at the site. Winners in each category will be posted after the Flashforward Conference and Film Festival takes place. Winners are announced from the stage during the August 21 awards ceremony which takes place during the Flashforward Conference. Each winner is awarded a Big Orange Rubber Arrow and the award-winning work will appear on the Flashforward website for all in the Flash community to view. The 50 projects are represented by 10 categories including: application, cartoon/story/narrative, code, experimental/art, game, motion graphics, navigation/experience, sound, typography, and video. There is one additional Big Orange Rubber Arrow awarded to the Peoples Choice Award which is a community-based award given by voters to their favorite Flash-based project.
