Nimos 0 Posted April 17, 2000 out of the box Win2K compatibility for the Deskjet 840C .... yeah right, no way to install the NT drivers and no Win2K drivers in the CD... Any way to get my 840C printer to work under Win2K ? Any ideas as to when the Win2K drivers will be ready ? Thanks ! Share this post Link to post
ledzeppel 0 Posted April 17, 2000 yeah it's a called a windows 2000 cd man. Drivers should be on the disk. Share this post Link to post
Nimos 0 Posted April 17, 2000 The printer came with 2 disks one for Mac and one for Win98/NT... There isn't any Win2000 cd... Or drivers. HP site claims the Win2K drivers will be released Mid-March perhaps they are using a different calendar or something. Share this post Link to post
YuppieScum 0 Posted April 17, 2000 ledzeppl is refering to the Win2K cd that you installed w2k from. if you don't have that, then you're SOL. ------------------ SuperMicro P6DBS (dual UW-SCSI) BIOS 2.2, 2*Celery 300a @ 450Mhz, 384MB PC100 RAM SCSI-A=4.3Gb+9Gb, SCSI-B=Tosh32x CD-ROM, Yamaha4416 CD-RW, Iomega ZIP100, IDE1=4.3Gb IBM EtherJet 10/100 NIC PCI + Nortel ADSL "modem" Matrox G400 DH 32Mb AGP + Quantum3D Voodoo2 SLI PCI (CL TNT1 AGP on a shelf) SoundBlaster Live PCI (not Value) Win2K build 2195 Retail (not 120-day eval) Share this post Link to post
Nimos 0 Posted April 18, 2000 Sorry... the drivers are not in the Win2K CD and the 840C is not listed in HP printer models... And what SOL means ? Share this post Link to post
YuppieScum 0 Posted April 19, 2000 SOL means "sh1t out of luck" Have you looked at HP's support site? They have W2K drivers (some beta) for most printers, and a schedule for release of full drivers. ------------------ SuperMicro P6DBS (dual UW-SCSI) BIOS 2.2, 2*Celery 300a @ 450Mhz, 384MB PC100 RAM SCSI-A=4.3Gb+9Gb, SCSI-B=Tosh32x CD-ROM, Yamaha4416 CD-RW, Iomega ZIP100, IDE1=4.3Gb IBM EtherJet 10/100 NIC PCI + Nortel ADSL "modem" Matrox G400 DH 32Mb AGP + Quantum3D Voodoo2 SLI PCI (CL TNT1 AGP on a shelf) SoundBlaster Live PCI (not Value) Win2K build 2195 Retail (not 120-day eval) Share this post Link to post
nam ng 0 Posted April 19, 2000 I force-installed the 970CXI W2K driver from HP's home page for my 832C... can't do a print-head calibration, but do work just fine without any hitches or graphic errors. Share this post Link to post
ThC 129 0 Posted April 20, 2000 HP's site sucks I searched that site for 840c and windows 2000 found out it was supposed to be "mid-may" and was gonna contact tech support and see what the deal was but they wanted everything almost down to my mom's maiden name f*ck that. So don't go out and buy HP products they are crap and their support sucks at HP Share this post Link to post
